Netflix Instant Nudge: Comedy Central Presents

If you don't already know that Netflix has 216 Comedy Central Presents specials available for instant viewing, I suggest you just go there and browse.* Watch your favorite stand-up. If you need a suggestion, I say watch Kevin Meaney.

His very short Wikipedia page offers the observation "Typically, his acts consist of a lot of commentary about his family and complaints about hotel service." Sure. That's about it.

Watch his special to see if any of the jokes work better with the knowledge that he was in the closet at the time. The special came out in 1999. Meaney came out in 2007.

But his act really doesn't need any extra layers. He's a great performer and one of the few comedians that I can stand to watch laugh at his own jokes.

  1. I have a question. Should I delete the 39 specials I've saved on my DVR, and just watch on the computer when the moment strikes, or should I keep the "big" screen versions with "vintage" Comedy Central commercials?

  2. i wouldn't advise erasing any good quality recordings you have. you never know when netflix will get rid of the streaming versions.

i love having the commercials from tv broadcasts on file. there's are some good stuff back there.

if you can get yourself a few terabytes of storage space just for dvr recordings, hoard that booty like a dragon.

  3. Thank you. It's nice to know they're not wasting space, and of course there's always new specials that won't immediately be available on Netflix.
